what we know so far — Rob Zombie’s “31”

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it a million times: I hate clowns. They’re creepy, they hide behind a hundred pounds of make-up, and they just stare at you with those empty eyes [just me on that last one?] that being said, sometimes I find myself ‘okay’ with them – specifically ones on film. [I sense a ‘top 5’ list coming up, do you?] Now, Rob Zombie has a new film coming out – aptly called ’31’, and the clowns in the poster and concept art remind me of all the reasons I cannot stand the sight of them.

If you paid attention to Mr. Zombie‘s 60 minute live video last week, you’d know that, right now – not that much is known about 31 yet; other than it takes place in 1975 [on Halloween, of course], has some fucking terrifying clowns, and involves a game of cat and mouse in a ‘theme park’ — known as ‘Murderworld’..

It’s also being crowdfunded over at RZ-31, which is a newer concept to me; but none the less, it might actually do better because of it. [I like to believe that you have to be a certain type of person to willing watch murderous clowns in a theatre.]

As for myself, I’m skeptical about 31: don’t get me wrong, I loved “House Of 1000 Corpses” and especially enjoyed “The Devil’s Rejects”, but after last year’s lackluster “Lords Of Salem” – which I was looking forward to – I’m concerned, yet excited for this film. [I don’t want it sharing the same fate as Lords Of Salem..]

To further my excitement, I’ve collected the “concept art” that has been released so far, and I figured it’s definitely worth sharing; especially with the creep-factor. Below is the concept art for “31”, hope I’m not the only one who doesn’t like clowns, and remember you can always help support the film by donating money to RZ-31.

So how do you feel about the concept for 31? Does it look like the next big thing in horror? Or are clowns just too much? I’m probably going to be watching through my fingers — only cause of those fucking clowns though!

let's talk about it!
